Royal Arts Center

On the 18th of June something historical happened in Houston, Texas. The Nigerian flag was hoisted
via the opening of the new Royal Arts African Center to the joy of all present. The center is the
brainchild of Nollywood producer/director Emem Isong Misodi who has fulfilled a lifelong ambition to
carry the culture of her people to the shores of other nations. This is in an effort to foster mutual and
peaceful coexistence between each community.


The event was well attended by several dignitaries in Houston as well as members of the film
community both in Nigeria and Houston many of who flew in specially for the event. Dignitaries like
Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, Alex Ekubo, Bukky Wright, Thelma Okoduwa, Bola Aduwo, Anita Chris,
Ijeoma Onah of Nigeria International Film Summit, Uche James Iroha, Arch Bishop Cletus Bassey of
Destiny International Missions, Pst and Mrs Morayo Fagboro of Kingdom Life Assembly, Bode Ojo,
Grace Charis Bassey (formerly Belinda Effah) Ruth Maingi from Kenya to mention a few. During the
event Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen screened his new movie ‘For The Love of Isiuwa to the admiration
of all present and the upcoming African Cultural Film Festival (AFFRICUFF) taking place from
October 26 th to October 29 th 2023 was unveiled.
